A – Most of us are aware of the benefits of hospice care for end-of-life treatment. But new research at NYU, Johns Hopkins and Imperial College in London could bring a revolution in that care using the drug psilocybin, derived from so-called magic mushrooms. A single dose can relieve the fear and anxiety experienced by the terminally ill. Is this something we should be doing after suppressing science in these areas for 50 years? Google psilocybin and hospice.  Check out this article.   Mac

B – Was the Supreme Court’s decision to delay Obama’s climate policy moves based on the law or politics?   Will the absence of Scalia change things?

C – For some time Putin has been concerned about Europe/NATO encroachment on Russia’s traditional buffer countries.  I believe he has decided to bomb Syrian civilians and swamp Europe with refugees to reduce western pressure on his border areas..  Do you agree?  What can Europe do?

D – Right now the economy is depressed world-wide.  Some of the factors seem to be the fall in oil prices (now about $30.), China, the USA, BRIKS, and Europe.  In one minute, tell us how this mess interacts.

E – Charles Koch has an article in the Washington Post claiming he agrees with Burnie Saunders … sometimes.  Reading it becomes a fascinating exercise in critical thinking; do they agree for the same reasons? do they disagree in important ways? what does Koch leave out? John

G – Canada’s Liberals have released a plan to tax stock options.  A CEO objects.  Whose right?
